Letter from the President:
Welcome to the Los Gatos National Junior Basketball 2008-09 Season.
The Los Gatos Chapter of NJB is excited about this season. Last year, 340 children participated in Los Gatos NJB program. We offer young people the opportunity to have fun, develop as individuals and learn to play basketball. They play win and lose as team in a competitive environment for boys and girls in grades three through eight, ages 7-14.
We offer two levels of play, Divisional and All-Net. The majority of children play at the Division Level, where players attend Division Skill Evaluations in order to form balanced teams. Division games are played against teams from other Silicon Valley NJB chapters as well as other Los Gatos teams.
Division 1: Boys and Girls – 7th and 8th grade
Division 2: Boys and Girls – 5th and 6th grade
Division 3: Boys and Girls – 3rd and 4th grade
The All-Net level is for advanced players who qualify in All-Net Tryout sessions. All-Net teams play teams from other Silicon Valley Chapters.
There are boys and girls All-Net teams for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
All-Net Tryouts will be held October 4 & 5. Times and locations will be posted on the website.
Divisional Evaluations will be held October 11 &12. All players must attend one of these evaluation sessions. Time and locations of the evaluations will be posted on the website. this is also listed under schedule tab above:

Registration opens September 1 and registration priority is based on a first come first serve basis. Please don’t wait until the last minute to register as we will be fully subscribed.
While we do allow players outside the boundaries to play in our chapter, players living within the chapter boundaries have priority (provided they register during the month of September). Also if you are outside the boundaries you are responsible to obtain and provide our chapter with a waiver from your local chapter in order to be considered for all star or all net teams.
Practices are two times a week, one weekday and one on Saturday. Practices are held in local gyms and in all likelihood your child’s team will have one practice time at Loma Prieta School and one time at Union, Rolling Hill or Fisher Middle Schools. Games are played on Sunday.
This is a competitive basketball league and it is mandatory your child attend practices. There are other leagues to play in if you feel that two practices a week are too much or if your child is wait listed.
The strength and success of our chapter is directly correlated to the active participation of our parents and the community! Sponsors are welcome to help us absorb the costs of gym time which is our biggest expense. If you are interested in Coaching, Volunteering or Sponsoring or know of qualified people which are interested, please contact us at admin@njblosgatos.com
